Make sure all employees get home safely every day.

It is interesting to know what is going on in enterprising Netherlands. Every month, the Interpolis BedrijvenMonitor asks freelancers and SMEs how they view the future, where they stand with their company and what concerns them. More than 500 freelancers and SMEs share their opinion on current topics and how they see the future and what is the willingness to invest.

With the withdrawal of the home working advice, we see the traffic jam increasing again. People spend more time in their car for commuting. Remarkable is the online meeting that is popular and the chance that employees participate in online meetings behind the wheel is therefore increasing. Agreements between employer and employee about how to safely participate in traffic are not yet made much.

Data shows that 69% of SMEs surveyed have not made agreements with their employees about safely attending meetings in the car. Research by Safe Traffic Netherlands shows that 37% of all entrepreneurs even say they have no policy at all in the field of road safety. This while 49% of SMEs expect that digital conferencing will continue to occupy an important position in their company, even as staff return to the office.

Agreements about mobility between employer and employee are included in a mobility plan. Employers are using returning to the office as an opportunity to change the mobility plan. A striking detail is that 16% of SMEs are considering no longer offering the personal lease car.
