The municipality of Eindhoven has opened the battle against companies around Eindhoven Airport that circumvent the prohibition on their own grounds to rent out parking spaces to travelers. Lock & Fly has a small-scale but well-secured car park with a good location in the immediate vicinity of the airport and only a three-minute walk to the entrance of Eindhoven Airport. The company is now facing a penalty because the municipality judges that the revenue model is based entirely on parking.

flex workplaces

The company is doing everything it can to create the appearance that it is not at all concerned with parking as its main activity. They even have a number of flexible workplaces available on the top floor. Always handy to quickly print the boarding pass. The company of the entrepreneur Rolf Hertroijs from Waalre has registered itself in the Chamber of Commerce as a company in the storage in distribution centers and other storage, the rental of real estate and the repair, towing and polishing of cars. There is no parking service, as the activities also include the rental of (vending) machines, rental of real estate and office flex spaces.

Due to the limited number of parking spaces where you can personally park your car, it can sometimes be useful to take control of your car key when it is busy. In this way we can organize our parking space as efficiently as possible, so that there is room for all reserved vehicles. In the unlikely event that you are not prepared to leave your car key with us, it could be that we have no space despite your reservation.

According to it ED the municipality demands that the company stop offering the passengers. Nevertheless, the municipality emphasizes that the Lock & Fly company is not the only target that will be taken against. Around the airport it has been a game of cat and mouse between commercial parking companies on the one hand and the airport and the municipality on the other. The court decides before Christmas whether Lock & Fly is in violation. Director Rolf Hertroijs says he does not focus on parking users, but according to the municipality, the company has the appearance of a parking company and explicit advertising is made for parking.

locker rental with free parking

The Eindhoven-based company advertises a service package where you can rent a baggage or package safe. If you do this, you can always park your car in your own parking lot. A safe is rented and can then use the free parking facilities. When you rent a locker, parking your car is free. Lock & Fly calls itself the best option for more services for less money and fast, safe and cheap or free parking within walking distance of Eindhoven Airport.
