The new Corona App CoronaMelder, which has gone live, is welcome for KNV Healthcare Transport and Taxi. Still, there are concerns about the consequences of the quarantine advice the app provides. MKB-Nederland and VNO-NCW are urging the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, to adjust the advice of the app (in case of complaints 10 days in quarantine). They are also fighting for compensation for employers who have to continue to pay the wages of people who are in quarantine, but cannot work from home.

Also from the sister association of KNV Healthcare Transport and Taxi, Public Transport has the Netherlands attention required for the advice that the App gives. According to OV-NL, the App does not take into account the fact that OV employees do their work behind screens or in fully shielded areas, which means they are protected. The app also does not take into account that travelers wear a mouth mask, as well as employees who wear protective equipment. As an extension of this, KNV has also raised the issue of the advice given by the App for healthcare and taxi transport at the ministry.

After all, we also have sector protocols in healthcare and taxi transport that prescribe protective measures (such as the use of surgical masks, whether or not use of a cough screen) for the driver, so that a contact that has registered the app does not immediately create such a contact. which means that a driver always has to be quarantined. The KNV advice is therefore to always check carefully to what extent a driver who receives a notification via the App has indeed been in close contact, or whether it is different due to the protective measures taken. KNV Zorgtrans en Taxi advises you to contact the GGD in your region if in doubt. It goes without saying that the use of the app for employees is only on a voluntary basis.
