We are heading in the right direction, borders are slowly opening up again, Public Transport is getting going again and aircraft are flying again more often. Since June 1, the 'normal' timetable has started again in Public Transport. The timetable is not really 'normal', at least not as we are used to. Public Transport capacity is now only 40 percent of what it was before the corona crisis. OV-NL registers NBR News radio that only 30 percent of the capacity of public transport is used.

This is already much better than it was before 1 June, when the capacity in public transport was barely 15 percent. However, the government still calls on people to only use public transport if it is really necessary and you have no other transport. They also ask to travel outside rush hour as much as possible. As of 1 June, wearing a non-medical mask on the bus, train, tram and metro and on the ferries to the Wadden Islands is mandatory. This applies to travelers aged 13 and older. The staff are also obliged to wear a mask, unless they work in a closed room or if at least 1,5 meters can be kept.

Travelers who do not comply with this rule can be fined € 95. To date, remarkably few fines have been issued to travelers who did not follow the rules. To date, only twenty fines in public transport have been distributed to travelers in the Netherlands. According to OV-NL, these fines were also combined with aggression and bad behavior. This is not much, travelers have adhered well to the corona rules so far. According to OV-NL, fines are the last (red) means, they first talk to a traveler who commits an offense.
