The province of Fryslân is considering stopping the tendering procedure for bus transport. That said deputy Avine Fokkens know, in response to a call for this from union CNV. According to Pieter Atsma of the Friesch Dagblad, the province is currently finalizing the tender of bus transport in Fryslân for the period 2022-2032.

Atsma wrote that the union called CNV yesterday to postpone tenders in, among others, Fryslân. Given the given situation, carriers would have too little financial space to make a good offer, and the union fears, according to Atsma, that there will also be less money for staff who cannot transfer from the old to the new carrier.

Deputy Avine Fokkens informs Friesch Dagblad through her spokesperson Atze Jan de Vries that she will check whether it is now a good time to continue the tender. De Vries says he cannot say in what period is more clear.

“The question is justified, the discussion about it is now going on. The main thing is that we want a good tender. ”Says De Vries

Pieter Atsma previously rang the bell in the Friesch Dagblad with the message that many small Frisian villages and hamlets had to be careful not to lose their public transport entirely. An inventory by Friesch Dagblad showed that at least thirteen Frisian villages and hamlets were missing from the list of requirements for the new bus concession.
