Entrepreneur organization Cleaning and Business Services (OSB) calls on government agencies to also fulfill their contractual obligations. Bee OSB There are frequent reports from cleaning companies that clients from the public sector are failing to meet their agreements and that they claim force majeure due to the corona virus.

“Government organizations close their premises because staff work from home. Subsequently, they no longer fulfill their contracts for keeping their properties clean or they wish to cancel unilaterally. Practice what you preach; on the one hand, the government is introducing emergency measures for entrepreneurs such as the NOW, but on the other hand it leaves them out in the cold, ”said OSB chairman Piet Adema.

Cleaning is indispensable for the proper functioning of our society in hospitals, airports, stations, offices, factories and schools, hotels and laboratories. The Business Organization for Cleaning and Business Services (OSB) represents the interests of approximately 300 employers in the cleaning and window cleaning sector in the Netherlands.

In addition to calling on the government to lead by example, Adema calls on cleaning entrepreneurs and government agencies to come up with possible solutions together. According to him, these are indeed there.

“Cleaning work always remains. Even when fewer and no employees are present. Spring cleaning can also be brought forward, for example, so that employees can keep working. In addition, agreements can be made about invoicing methods. With being directly opposite to each other and bickering about money, nobody gets along in this difficult time. ”

Finally, Adema states that it is also completely undesirable that, by not complying with the contract obligations, the government itself, entrepreneurs must make an extra appeal to the same government through the support measures such as NOW. That is unnecessary pumping around money that does not benefit anyone.
