Prime Minister Rutte's press conference on May 19 has not led to more clarity for group accommodations. It is still a difficult puzzle for entrepreneurs to find out what is possible. In particular, the differences in national principles and the guidelines from the 25 safety regions cause confusion.

At the press conference, the prime minister indicated that the catering and cultural institutions may open again from 1 June. A maximum of 30 people is allowed. This number would provide sufficient opportunity for many group accommodations to furnish the central space according to the standards of a restaurant (including 1,5 meters between people who do not belong to the same household). A lot of group accommodations however, do not have a catering license and are probably not covered by this regulation.

After each prime minister speech, all 25 security regions must first translate the new general guidelines into their region and then publish them on their own website. This often takes more than 5 working days, which leads to annoyance among recreation entrepreneurs.

The uncertainty does not only apply to entrepreneurs. The booking platform for group accommodations also receives many questions from holiday guests whether or not it is allowed to go on holiday with a group. However, that question is not so easy to answer. The differences per safety region are enormous at the moment. The Drenthe safety region, for example, already offers space for renting to several families.

One of the conditions in this region is that there must be several compartments where families and / or households can stay. In addition, they must have their own sanitary facilities. It is therefore wise to contact the recreation entrepreneur about what is and what is not possible and in what form.

creativity of entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs think in terms of opportunities and possibilities and are therefore fully looking for the possibilities they still have. More and more group accommodations now offer their stay as a 'very spacious' holiday home for a family. This often happens at a considerably lower rate. Where possible, accommodations are also split into smaller individual units, so that they come under the hotel regime.
