We have had to wait a long time, but today the time has come, amusement park De Efteling opens its doors again. Efteling has been closed since March 14 due to the consequences of the corona crisis. According to the news reports, the park allows a third of the normal capacity for visitors. Visitors must make a reservation in advance, otherwise you will not be able to enter. They do this to maintain an overview and to ensure the safety of the visitors.

Last Monday there were 24.000 people in the online reservation queue for a ticket. The amusement park has taken all kinds of measures to ensure that visitors visit them safely for everyone. The Dutch guidelines of RIVM apply in the amusement park. And measures are being taken from the industry protocol of the Club of Eleven and the Dutch Association of Zoos: 'Safe Together Out'.

The Efteling is 140 football fields in size, so visitors should be able to keep the 1,5 meter distance from each other. Adjustments have been made throughout the park, disinfection posts have been placed. Special walking directions and waiting areas have also been indicated in the park and in the shops and distribution points. Contact points are cleaned more often and visitors are asked to wash and disinfect hands regularly. This means that mouth masks or plastic gloves are not necessary for visitors. Personnel only use face masks and other protective equipment if, due to certain situations, it is not possible to keep a 1,5 meter distance.

The catering facilities in the park are only open for take-away and the tables on the terraces are 3 meters apart. Efteling asks visitors to come alone to the park or with your household (group of people who live at the same address) with a maximum of 8 people. Everywhere in the park are employees who have been specially trained to supervise the special corona measures. Visitors who come by car must park their car on the instructions of the employees, in this way visitors are spread over the site.
