We should have been more careful in these cases.

Safe Traffic Netherlands wants program and series makers to be aware of their exemplary role. After a friendly tap on the fingers, RTL will record the use of the correct safe traffic routines in cars more clearly in the production processes. A spokesperson informs RTL Boulevard after a complaint from VVN about the sloppy behavior of candidates in a number of RTL programs.

Programs often neglect the correct wearing of seat belts. Perhaps they wear the belts under the armpits because otherwise the belt will rub against the microphone. We also regularly see a calling driver who receives orders on the road with a smartphone to his ear. The big question is whether we should see all these programs as an example for our own behavior.

Perhaps something can also be said about fully portraying license plates at locations where people would probably not give permission to show them there. Sometimes a license plate is hidden by 'blurring' and other times you see them in full view.

VVN made an urgent appeal to all makers of Dutch television programs and series. “All studies show that setting a good example leads to good follow-up. You have to make it clear to people, especially in well-watched programs, how they should behave behind the wheel and on the road," a spokesperson insists.
