After several years of absence due to the corona pandemic, the popular refresher course on driving skills for the elderly is back in the town hall. The elderly (65+) from Amstelveen can participate free of charge in the two-day course offered by the municipality in collaboration with Veilig Verkeer Nederland (VVN), Amstelveen-Amstelland department. The two-day refresher course on driving skills, during which participants were updated on the latest traffic rules, was always well attended.

“When Joss Tabak, former alderman in Amstelveen, asked if they could organize the refresher driving skills course together with VVN again in the town hall, we of course immediately said yes. It can easily be 30, 40 or 50 years ago that someone got their driver's license and a lot can have changed in those years. Think of roundabouts with two-way traffic for cyclists or new lines. The course contributes to road safety in the municipality and of the elderly in particular and we wholeheartedly support that. We are proud of Joss that she has been the driving force behind the organization of the refresher course together with VVN for years and that she is still committed to the elderly of Amstelveen even after her position as alderman. I hope that together we will be committed to road safety for a long time to come.”
