Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines now offer their passengers an additional option for even greater security in their travel plans, in addition to flexible rebooking options and the elimination of rebooking fees. Additional Covid-19 services are now included in the existing insurance packages offered by the airlines' existing insurance partner. 

The customer can choose from two options: “Travel Care” and “Travel Care Plus”. The “Travel Care” package includes compensation for the passenger if they have to be quarantined at their destination due to a Covid-19 infection. At the same time, this option includes travel cancellation and travel interruption insurance. 

In addition to the listed services, the Travel Care Plus option also covers medical costs in the event the passenger falls ill with Covid-19. Urgent repatriation is also covered. This offers the traveler even more security. All insurance benefits are subject to the terms of the policy.

The insurance options can now be booked with the Lufthansa Group's insurance partner, AIG Europe SA, for passengers living in Germany, Austria and Switzerland through the direct sales channels. The Lufthansa Group Airlines is one of the first to offer their customers additional travel insurance with an insurance package for even more security, reports Lufthansa on their website.
