Now that the corona standards have relaxed a bit, the big question is how to get the European tourism industry back on track. Gari Cappelli from Italy is a Croatian politician who advocates for a corona passport. Only tourists who can provide a valid document stating that they do not have covid-19 are allowed to travel within the EU.

According to Cappelli, who comes from Italy, they must first be tested negative. In addition to Croatia, Portugal, Malta and Cyprus would also like the corona passport. Cappelli believes that the less hard-hit member states can work together to create 'tourist passageways'. The condition is that those countries implement the same kind of corona policy. For example, the Czech Republic would like to open a corridor with Slovakia and Croatia.

Ursula von der Leyen

Ursula von der Leyen advises EU nationals not to take them summer holidays because no one can make reliable predictions for July and August at the moment. Von der Leyen also warned the elderly population of Europe and those with pre-existing health problems that they should remain isolated for the rest of the year. Nursing homes cannot be visited as long as there is no vaccine.

The creator of the corona passport Gari Cappelli is a Croatian politician of Italian descent who has been the 2016th Minister of Tourism in Andrej Plenković's cabinet since 13. He was previously Mayor of Mali Lošinj between 2005 and 2016.
