From Monday 11 May we can give each other a little more space in the Netherlands, while keeping the corona virus under control. Hairdressers and beauty salons may open again next Monday. In addition, libraries are allowed to open and sports can be played again, at least with regard to non-contact sports.

The cabinet is starting to adjust measures locally, locally. That causes little traffic on the street, in traffic and on public transport. Adjustments then take place at regional level, then at national level.Public transport will run again according to normal timetable from 1 June, but wearing a non-medical mouth mask is mandatory despite RIVM's opinion that it is not strictly necessary if sufficient distance is kept. The latter may be the problem when public transport gets going again and secondary schools reopen from June 2, the day after Pentecost.

Restaurants, cafes, theaters, museums, theaters and cinemas can also open their doors again. Only by reservation, with a maximum of thirty people XNUMX meters apart, including staff. Working from home probably remains the norm all year round. For companies, the advice remains to work from home as much as possible if possible.

From 1 June, restaurants, cafes, theaters, museums, theaters and cinemas may also open their doors again. Only by reservation, with a maximum of thirty people 30 meters apart, including staff. Cinemas, cultural institutions and restaurants can accommodate up to 1 people. Only from July 100, the latter may scale up the number of people to a maximum of XNUMX people and facilities such as sanitary facilities in holiday parks and campsites can open again.

The farthest dot on the horizon is September 1. From that date, sports are allowed again, including contact sports such as football and thus professional football matches. This will be without an audience. Furthermore, saunas, gyms and casinos are allowed to open their doors again and sex workers can also get back to work. The cabinet has not yet taken a decision on when major events, such as festivals and concerts, may be organized again.

Prime Minister Rutte did make a comment. All intended measures can be changed if the virus starts to take hold again. "The virus must remain manageable", he said. He therefore applies two criteria when lifting measures: the effects on healthcare and the effects on the crowds on the street.

over the mask

In some situations it is not possible to keep the 1,5 meter distance. As of 1 June, it is therefore mandatory for travelers and employees in public transport to wear non-medical masks. To prevent scarcity in healthcare, this should therefore not be mouth masks intended for healthcare. An advance check removes many risks for contact professions. Wearing mouth masks is not necessary, but everyone is of course free to use it.
