66-year-old Rotterdammer John Molkenboer died last night of the corona virus on the IC of the IJsselland Hospital. A hardworking taxi driver and a Rotterdammer in heart and soul. John died on Sunday night around 03.00 a.m. after his heart had failed. His wife and son Leroy were in his hospital with him in his last moments.

"Don't say you are doing well, because you are not doing well at all!"

John drove dialysis patients in Rotterdam. After a few days it was determined that corona contamination was present between the patients he transported. His son Leroy said earlier this week in the report with Nieuwsuur reporter Jan Eikelboom that it takes a lot of effort to tell his story.

"I don't want to get angry. There is no point in anger, I have to stay positive, staying positive is the only thing that can help now, ”says Leroy.

We wish the family of John, his friends and colleagues of Taxi St. Job, where John Molkenboer worked, a lot of strength in the coming period with this great loss.

Nieuwsuur reporter Jan Eikelboom visited this week his wife Martie and son Leroy, who were in suspense at home. The report released a lot: the family received hundreds of statements of support.
