The municipality of The Hague expects a construction protest demonstration on the Malieveld tomorrow, Wednesday 30 October. This time no protests from the agricultural sector, but a construction demonstration of action group Grond In Verzet. The shops and restaurants in the inner city use their regular opening hours during the demonstration and are simply accessible and accessible to the public. 

Those who want to reach the city center by bicycle or on foot will experience minimal disruption. Motorists and public transport users are advised to plan their journey in advance.

Accessibility is hardly at issue

In order to keep traffic on the right track, measures may be taken during the construction protest. As the protests start at 6am, it promises to be a nationally busy morning rush hour. Trams 15, 16 and 17 will be diverted in The Hague from that same hour. Be on the safe side and head out the door prepared. Consult any traffic diversions online in advance. The channels of the HTM, the police and the municipality of The Hague are suitable for this. 

In the course of the morning / day the HTM can still decide to divert lines. In addition, be aware of possible directions from traffic controllers or police officers on the street during the construction protest. These must be followed at all times. The program of the protest is expected to end at 15:00 PM.

Catering and shops are open

The shops and restaurants in the city center of The Hague are open all day. Roadblocks and blockades are not expected to limit access to these companies. Please check the opening hours of the respective store in advance to ensure that this company is open. Contractor and one of the initiators, Klaas Kooiker, reports that the organization has everything but the intention to shut down The Hague or cause nuisance.
