Today, Booking.com, one of the largest digital travel platforms in the world, is launching an on-demand taxi service in partnership with Grab. This gives users of the Booking.com app access to the largest driver service in 8 countries in Southeast Asia. Works in the Netherlands karhoo together with the Pitane Mobility in Eindhoven to offer the same platform. According to insiders, we are expected to be able to use the booking platform on our mobile phones before the holidays.

The company is thus taking its first step in the field of taxi services. International travelers in Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam can now order services from local drivers via the trusted app. Often problems related to local language and currency make travelers less happy to use a local transport provider. This new partnership removes these concerns.

"Our mission is simple yet ambitious at the same time: making it easier for everyone to experience the world," said Bryan Batista, Chief Executive Officer of Booking.com's transportation industry.

Just like Grab, they love that they are pushing boundaries. They join our unique forces to create added value together and to provide travelers with real, tangible benefits. Grab's core mission is from the very beginning that we want to make it safer, easier and more affordable for everyone to move from A to B in South East Asia.

“Booking.com is a great partner and we look forward to further expanding our partnership and creating even better travel experiences through technology together.”

Grab purchased all of Uber's services in eight countries. In addition to Malaysia, purchases were also made in Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines, among others. This mainly concerns passenger transport, but Grab also took over Uber Eats, the food delivery service. For transport by taxi you can ask at the hotel for transport with Grab. In Malaysia, the order is first Grab, then a taxi.
