FNV is demanding a severance payment, according to press officer Ernst Moeksis, for the last eight remaining Ryanair cabin employees at Eindhoven airport. The price fighter wants to fire them for economic reasons and has started a dissolution procedure with the subdistrict court in Eindhoven. This while the UWV previously ruled that there are no business economic reasons.

Cabin employees request the subdistrict court judge to dismiss the termination of employment contracts for business reasons, but to reject them on the basis of a distorted employment relationship that Ryanair is to blame for.

FNV union director Asmae Hajjari: 'We are taking legal action against Ryanair for our members. The Irish travel stunner squeezes these employees and has been harassing them for a long time. '

Employment relationship.

Meanwhile, the working relationship between Ryanair and the cabin employees in Eindhoven has deteriorated so much that the eight no longer want to work for the company. They prefer to build their future elsewhere and, in addition to the statutory transition fee, also demand fair compensation from Ryanair, because the price fighter acted seriously culpably.

In previous lawsuits, Ryanair pulled out a tarpaulin. At the end of 2018, the preliminary relief judge in Den Bosch ruled that Ryanair could not sufficiently substantiate that economic reasons were actually the reason for closing the base in Eindhoven. In another pilot case, the judge ruled that Ryanair punishes its employees for exercising their right to strike against the plans of the Irish multinational.

Unrest in Europe.

Ryanair is also unsettled in other European countries, because the price fighter fails to make decent agreements about terms of employment and conditions with unions. Ryanair recently announced the dismissal of 900 employees in Europe and the airline company closed a number of bases. This affects workers in Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.

Strangely enough, Ryanair is recruiting new staff in other countries. European unions have therefore announced actions in the near future. These actions may also have consequences for flights to and from Eindhoven.
