The Curacao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA) has appointed Anuschka Cova as the new CEO.

With more than a quarter of a century of experience in leadership roles, Cova brings an impressive portfolio to the organization, particularly through its expertise in the private sector and public-private partnerships. Her deep insight into the tourism industry is particularly relevant. Cova previously served as chairman of the Curaçao International Financial Association (CIFA) for six years and as vice-chairman of the Curaçao International Financial Center (CIFC) for six years. She also served on steering committees such as the Curaçao Tourism Master Plan Steering Committee and the Curaçao Investment Committee.

In her new role, she will lead the organization in its pursuit of a visible, leading and effective contribution to a vibrant and sustainable tourism and hospitality product in Curaçao. Her extensive experience and dedication to the sector will be key in promoting the initiatives of COTTAGE. These initiatives include advocacy and lobbying on behalf of the industry, marketing of destinations and products, maintaining and growing airline services, developing products and human resources, and communicating as the voice of the industry.

The new CEO has taken on the position with the aim of putting the catering industry and tourism on Curaçao more on the map.

“We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Cova as the new CEO of CHATA. Her experience and deep-rooted passion for the tourism industry make her the ideal candidate to lead CHATA into the future.”

Cova herself is also excited about her new position, stating: “I am honored to take over as CEO of CHATA and am committed to driving positive change in the tourism sector. Together with our members, partners and the CHATA board, we will continue to strive for sustainable growth of the tourism sector in Curaçao and ensure that its benefits are enjoyed throughout our community.”

Finally, CHATA would also like to recognize the significant contributions of Mr. Jim Hepple, who, as Interim Director, provided vital insights and efforts to CHATA and its members for 18 months. Cova and Hepple will work together in the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition. “We would like to express our enormous thanks to Mr Jim Hepple for the excellent work he has done over the past 18 months. We couldn't have asked for a better interim director,” said Luttge.

COTTAGE

The Curacao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA), a non-profit organization, plays a crucial role in Curacao's tourism and hospitality industry. Representing more than 250 private sector organizations, CHATA covers all branches of this vital industry. The association joins the forces and knowledge of its members to achieve significant and positive changes within the sector.

CHATA offers its members a range of services, including market intelligence, networking opportunities, data and general information about the tourism industry. In addition, CHATA regularly updates its members on the actions it is taking to support their business objectives.

As a proactive advocate of public policy, CHATA strives to create an enabling business environment. The organization acts as a driving force behind the product development and marketing of the hospitality and tourism industry. In this role, CHATA plays an important role in shaping Curaçao's tourism landscape, focusing on both short- and long-term benefits for the island and its residents.
