Mobility platform umob is the first Mobility-as-a-Service platform (MaaS) to fully integrate all Dutch scooter sharing providers.

The Dutch mobility landscape is undergoing a revolutionary change with the integration of all scooter sharing providers in one app, thanks to the innovative platform umob. Headquartered in Rotterdam, this Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform recently expanded its offering through the partnership with Check, giving users access to an impressive total of 50.000 vehicles. This number includes previously integrated providers such as Felyx, GO Sharing, and other transport options such as public transport, taxis and bike sharing. umob's ambition extends beyond the Dutch borders, with plans to expand coverage across Europe.

umob stands out as the first MaaS platform in the Netherlands that offers full integration of scooter sharing providers. This step marks an important milestone in the development of accessible and sustainable urban mobility. The integration facilitates a smoother travel experience for users, who can access various modes of transportation from a single app, without the need to manage separate accounts or worry about varying fares.

According to Bibi Jorissen, Managing Director of umob, it is crucial that the mobility offering in cities and provinces is a valid alternative to owning your own vehicle. The aim is to ensure that there is always a travel option available within a three-minute walk. Scooter sharing plays a key role in achieving this goal within urban areas, where the density of individual providers is often not sufficient to ensure seamless service. umob's strategy to bring all shared scooters under one umbrella effectively addresses this issue by providing users with reliable access to transportation.

“Solutions are being sought throughout Europe for mobility problems in and between major cities. Our platform is part of that solution and that is why we believe it is important to be able to offer our service everywhere internationally. By working closely with international mobility providers, we can quickly expand the offering and offer the benefits of our MaaS app in several countries.”

The expansion of umob's services with Check increases the number of available vehicles to 50.000, spread across major European cities such as Barcelona, Brussels, Lisbon, Paris, Madrid, Milan, and Rome. By entering into partnerships with international providers such as Cooltra, Bolt, and Donkey Republic, umob aims to expand its offering to 2024 vehicles by the end of 300.000. This would position umob as the platform with the widest range of transport options within Europe, an essential step towards facilitating a comprehensive mobility solution for urban areas.

umob's vision goes further than simply offering a diverse range of means of transport. The platform aims to play a key role in tackling urgent urban challenges such as traffic jams, congestion, emissions, and the excess of parked cars. By offering a simple and accessible alternative to owning a vehicle, umob contributes to the transition to more sustainable urban mobility.

umob's founders, Bibi Jorissen and Raymon Pouwels, have attracted significant capital to develop and scale up the platform, with a total investment of €8 million since its inception. This financial injection underlines investors' confidence in umob's vision and potential to shape the future of urban mobility.
