After seventeen years at the head of the General Dutch Association of Travel Companies (ANVR), Frank Oostdam has decided to resign from his position as director as of July 1 of this year.

This decision marks the end of an era in which Oostdam played a crucial role in the professionalization and modernization of the travel industry and the ANVR. Frank, who is seen by his colleagues as a true ambassador for the travel industry, has made an important mark on the sector over the years. Especially during the challenging Corona period, he was known for his incredible commitment to the interests of travel companies.

Arjan Kers, chairman of the ANVR, speaks highly of Oostdam: “He worked tirelessly 24/7 as a real diplomat to stand up for the interests of travel companies. Both in The Hague among politicians and civil servants, and on radio and TV.”

For Oostdam, who feels completely fit again, it is a conscious choice to spend more time on his private life. Although he will stand for re-election as chairman of the European umbrella organization ECTAA in June, it is clear that he is looking for a new balance between work and private life.

De succession has already been arranged. Frank Radstake, currently deputy director at ANVR, will become the new director on July 1. In recent years, Radstake has worked closely with Oostdam and the ANVR board on important topics such as sustainability, innovation, legal affairs and the labor market. He is seen as the ideal candidate to lead the organization through this challenging period.

“I have enjoyed working with Frank Oostdam over the past 14 years,” said Frank Radstake.

Under the leadership of Radstake, ANVR wants to remain committed to offering the most beautiful and best travel experiences to both business and leisure travelers. At a time when Dutch people seem more eager to travel than ever before, it is crucial that the sector continues to develop.

In the coming months, ANVR will focus on strengthening the team, so that the organization is at full strength on July 1. Until then, Oostdam will remain involved as director. Furthermore, ANVR hopes that he can continue his role as chairman at ECTAA for a second term.
