The aim is to make the construction sector safer and more sustainable.

Brussels Mobility, together with Embuild, ensures that construction companies can receive advice and support in the field of logistics and road safety. In the Brussels-Capital Region, the logistics activities of the construction sector account for 20% of freight traffic and 30 to 50% of vans on the road. This has many negative consequences such as traffic jams, greenhouse gas emissions, noise nuisance… At the same time, the number of road accidents involving vans is increasing.

Not all construction companies are aware of these negative consequences. As the construction industry expects demand to increase significantly in the coming years, it is important to make construction companies aware of these issues and encourage them to take care of their logistics and road safety.
