The three million Dutch users of the Parkmobile app will see the app transform into the EasyPark brand from this week. The first Parkmobile app was launched thirteen years ago. Since then, the color green has always predominated. That is now a thing of the past. With 3 million active users (5 million downloads), the originally Dutch Parkmobile is the largest parking app in the Netherlands. The Parkmobile brand will disappear permanently this month and will become EasyPark formerly Parkmobile. As of today, users are asked to change their app icon to that of EasyPark. The app itself is also getting a makeover. Users do not have to download a new app and the Parkmobile app is becoming more and more similar to the EasyPark app. This is primarily about the appearance and gradually also in terms of functionality.
From calling for a parking space in 2000 to innovative parking in 2023
Parkmobile was founded in the year 2000 in the Netherlands. It was the first to offer a digital solution for parking. As the name says: you could start and end a parking session by calling your mobile. In 2010 calling was replaced by the well-known app. The further development of smartphones led to even greater growth. The convenience of the app ensured that millions of Dutch people became familiar with the brand Parkmobile. But innovations when it comes to parking are not standing still.
“Interesting functionalities have been added in the last few years. Think of license plate recognition at parking garages and find and park. This is a functionality that leads you to a free parking space in busy city centres. In addition, we are becoming less and less dependent on the app on your mobile. Brands such as Mercedes, Volvo, Polestar and Renault already offer EasyPark via the dashboard as standard in their new models.”
