Wemmers Tanktransport and Nijhof-Wassink Group have reached an agreement to continue together. All activities, branches and employees of Wemmers Tanktransport will become part of the Nijhof-Wassink Group from 1 January 2022.

“Nijhof-Wassink and Wemmers are both specialists in bulk transport, with Wemmers specializing in Liquid Food and Nijhof-Wassink in Feed Logistics and Chemical Logistics. Both our companies are active in a very competitive market in which quality, reliability and flexibility are central. Nijhof-Wassink is growing in its market area and the possibility to add Food to the existing portfolio provides diversification in the range of specialized transport. It has a positive effect on the continuity of our company. The steps we have taken in recent years in data analysis, efficiency and targeted management have proved to be a huge success. We want to make the same progress in the great company Wemmers, which is active in many countries in Europe.”

By merging the knowledge and networks of the companies, the number of specialists is expanding considerably. After the takeover, Nijhof-Wassink Group is active with 1.750 colleagues in 8 home countries in the logistics and truck industry. With almost 800 own combinations, it is a specialist in the transport and storage of (Dry & Liquid) bulk goods for the chemical and animal feed industry and in the food sector.

“At Wemmers, we looked at the current market conditions and the various scenarios in order to remain a healthy transport group in the future. An acquisition was one of the options where future prospects and attention for the employees were of decisive importance. In the conversations with Nijhof-Wassink there was a special click and a good feeling. Nijhof-Wassink is a close-knit family business with a strong focus on its people. By uniting our brand names Wemmers and Troll within the Nijhof-Wassink Group, two companies with the same DNA and focus are brought together and both companies can benefit from each other's strengths.”

We will use the coming period to ensure that everyone quickly feels at home within the Nijhof-Wassink family. In the integration period, we will keep a strong focus on Wemmers' customers, so that a good foundation can be laid for the future. Paul van den Nieuwenhuizen will therefore continue to lead the Wemmers organization and also the integration with Nijhof-Wassink guiding and supporting” Erik Schiphorst says.
