Climate change, probably everyone has read and heard a lot about it lately. The Glasgow 2021 Climate Change Conference (COP26) in the context of climate behavior is still in full swing. The travel industry is also involved in this, last week the ANVR (travel industry organization) released news that it considers it important to take responsibility in the sustainable future of tourism and has issued the 'Glasgow declaration on climate action in tourism' for this. signed as one of the first European travel industry associations. According to the ANP, Travel Organization TUI really wants to limit its CO2 emissions by actually reducing the emission of the greenhouse gas. Tui wants to do less by compensating for CO2 emissions, for example by planting trees.

TUI also introduced Fair Travel last March. Fair Travel are (normal) sustainable holidays that have an eye for the future. With Fair Travel, special attention has been paid to investing in making mobility more sustainable, supporting the local economy and community and travelers stay in one of the 800 TUI eco-label hotels. Every booked Fair Travel holiday includes a contribution of 2 euros per person, TUI doubles this contribution to 4 euros. With this, TUI is investing in a sustainable future through projects all over the world. Travel organization TUI has now announced that with the Black Friday weekend it will FairTravel offer trips with extra discounts under the name Fair Friday. In this way they want to encourage consumers to travel sustainably.

"We are launching Fair Friday because we believe that you should not only talk about what you want to contribute to a better world, but also do something. Even if that hurts sales in the short term; after all, we no longer sell air travel to Paris, only car and train journeys. In the end, we all win."
