In 2022, Ebusco will deliver the very first fully composite electric buses in the Netherlands. Transdev Netherlands has ordered 39 Ebusco 3.0 buses for city and regional traffic in the Gooi and Vecht region. The buses contribute to clean and quiet bus transport in the Hilversum region.

Distinctive innovation

Transdev Netherlands has opted for this tender to start operating 2022 innovative, lightweight electric city and regional buses from Ebusco from April 39. These buses will drive an average of 110.000 kilometers per year and will charge on the basis of plug-in. The program of requirements left room for tendering parties to come up with innovative solutions that contribute to the realization of completely zero-emission public transport. Transdev Netherlands has seized this space by tendering for the majority of the concession with the Ebusco 3.0; 100% sustainable and extremely innovative because this bus is made of composite instead of steel. As a result, this configuration is 25% lighter than regular city and regional buses. The main advantage of this is that the energy consumption is much lower and that many more kilometers can be driven with the same battery pack. In addition, composite has the advantage that it is extremely strong and therefore has a much longer lifespan, so that these brand new buses can be used for years longer.

Major contribution to climate goals
With these buses, Transdev is making an important contribution to the climate objectives. Ebusco is pleased to once again be an important partner for Transdev and thus contribute to improving air quality together. Ebusco's electric buses contribute to the nitrogen problem: these buses do not emit any CO₂ or nitrogen. This results in approximately 1 kg of CO₂ reduction per bus per kilometer driven. Based on this order, this will result in more than 30 million kg of CO₂ reduction over the total contract period.

Background information Ebusco 3.0
A multifunctional team of key experts who have earned their spurs in aerospace, automotive and electronics have worked for years on the development of this innovative game changer. The bus is unique in its kind and has many innovations in addition to its composite body: the batteries are in the floor (which makes the bus much more stable and comfortable to drive) and the buses are equipped with cameras instead of mirrors (which makes the bus more comfortable to drive). much safer). Of course, the bus lacks nothing in luxury for both the bus driver and passengers: the bus is more spacious, there are USB ports everywhere in the bus and the bus has air conditioning and wifi. The Ebusco 3.0 is produced entirely in the Netherlands; in Deurne. The Ebusco 3.0 (prototype) was introduced in October 2019 and Ebusco is extremely proud that Transdev Netherlands will be the first to put this Ebusco 3.0 on the road in its home country: the Netherlands!

High range
Due to the low energy consumption of the Ebusco 3.0 and the associated high range, intermediate charging is no longer necessary in most cases. This makes a significant difference in the costs that have to be made in terms of charging infrastructure and charging time Ebusco.

“As a company, we have gained more than 9 years of experience with electric buses and chargers, so we know how to cut the slack. We believe that LFP technology battery in these buses is the best and safest battery on the market. Due to the combinations of all the innovations we apply, these buses can travel up to 575 km on a single charge; which is really unique for a bus”.
