Police issued 5554 fines for violating curfews in the past week. Last weekend, the police ended 47 illegal parties. The number of curfews is lower than the week before, when the police issued 6392 fines for non-compliance with the curfew. That fine is 95 euros. Since Wednesday, March 31, the curfew has started at 22.00 p.m. Police warned 162 people last week for not complying with the corona measures.

Average run further on

Between Sunday morning and Monday morning, 6757 new corona cases have been registered. For a Monday that is relatively much. The number of positive tests is usually lower at the beginning of the week than towards the end of the week.

In the past seven days, 50.102 positive tests were reported to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). That equates to 7157 new cases per day. It is the fourth day in a row that the average is rising again. By Easter, the number of positive tests had just paused.

Amsterdam had the most new corona cases. In the capital, 307 residents tested positive. 272 cases came to light in Rotterdam, 179 residents in The Hague heard that they had contracted the virus and 110 infections were confirmed in Utrecht. This is followed by Tilburg (107) and Den Bosch (100). In the safety regions, Rotterdam-Rijnmond again had the most cases (629).

The number of deaths increased by twenty. That's not to say they all died in a 24-hour period. When a corona patient dies, it sometimes takes a while before it is reported to RIVM. In the past seven days, 163 deaths have been recorded, an average of more than 23 per day. That is the highest level in almost two weeks, but it is still considerably less than at the turn of the year, at the start of the vaccination campaign. Then there were sometimes more than 150 reported deaths per day.
