Travel agency Corendon has postponed her holidays to Turkey for the time being, they will not fly to Turkey until August 12. They announced this yesterday in an update on their website. Despite the code orange advice from our government, Corendon would start flying again from July 10 to all kinds of places in Turkey, this advice was again postponed until July 29 on the advice of Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management: Cora van Nieuwenhuizen. And now they don't fly until August 12th. As long as our government's travel advice is on code orange, Corendon will not fly from the Netherlands to Turkey. The travel advice on the website of the Dutch government is still on code orange today, so traveling is not recommended to Turkey, if it is really necessary. People returning from this country are advised to quarantine at home for 14 days when they return to the Netherlands.

The number of corona infections is still very high in Turkey. The House of Representatives has previously consulted with the Dutch government on the number of flights planned from the Netherlands to Turkey. Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen indicated that he was not aware of the large number of flights from the Netherlands to Turkey. And that while the Dutch government has a code orange travel advice for Turkey. During those talks, the House of Representatives called on the government to pursue a targeted policy for holidays to Turkey as long as the code is orange. It will soon be assessed which measures should be taken. Minister van Nieuwenhuizen indicated in those conversations that a possible flight ban is possible. Corendon is still in talks with the government, but does not say anything about the content of this. Corendon let us know to only start traveling from the Netherlands to Turkey again if the travel advice is yellow. Corendon assumes that other airlines will no longer carry out flights from the Netherlands to Turkey as long as the travel advice is in orange code.
