Despite travel organization and coach company Betuwe Express is ready to go out again and day trips are organized in the usual way, taking into account the RIVM guidelines, it is not possible to get the company going smoothly. The corona crisis has hit coach company Betuwe Express so badly that director Albert Winnemuller is forced to apply for collective redundancy.

Almost five months ago, the corona crisis brought almost the entire fleet to a standstill. In the Gelderlander Winnemuller provides text and explanation of the letter informing staff about the collective dismissal application. Like many thousands of other companies, the company previously appealed to the Temporary Emergency Measure Bridging for Employment (NOW). However, the scheme only covers part of the labor costs and does not help to fulfill the other current obligations.

Winnemuller has prepared the reorganization plan Betuwe Express now presented to the unions and the works council. The reorganization affects the entire organization of the Betuwe Express, at the branches in Herveld and in Rijsoord. Travel organization and Touringcarbedrijf Betuwe Express BV from Herveld was founded over 50 years ago and has grown into one of the largest coach companies in the Netherlands. We have to wait for the next week for the consequences of the reorganization plans.
