The public interest in charging correct fees to applicants for permits was very high. The scheme must bring the excessively high rates to the right level, the cost prices. Applicants for, among other things, taxi transport licenses will pay less. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management is now preparing two amendment regulations in the area of tariffs for transport sectors.

The reason for this is a promise to the House of Representatives on 17 December 2019. The changes are tariff reductions for road transport, aviation and shipping, based on the cost prices of the permits. In addition, there are also rates below cost-effective levels. However, given the significant economic impact of the Corona crisis, these will not be increased as of 1 July 2020. This has been postponed to a later time.

The aim of the regulations is to reduce a number of rates for permits as of July 1, 2020. This provides a financial benefit for those who apply for a permit as of July 1, 2020. Everyone can visit until June 21, 2020 the website Overheid.nl respond to the two rate change regulations and the explanatory notes. This period is shorter than the usual four weeks. This is necessary for the changes to take effect on 1 July 2020.

The current rate for a taxi transport license drops from € 1412,07 to € 263,78. So there are financial benefits for those who apply for a permit, the rate of which will be reduced as of 1 July. No effects on regulatory burden are expected to arise.
