The costs must be reduced. They want to save no less than 2,5 billion euros in costs annually. They will do this by, among other things, reducing the number of car models and cutting research and marketing. These measures therefore cause the factory to close.

Approximately twenty thousand employees worldwide work for car manufacturer Nissan. About three thousand of these work in the car factory in Barcelona. In addition to the car factory, there is also a press facility, a development center and a logistics center in Barcelona. Yesterday there was in one press release brought out that Groupe Renault, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, members of one of the world's leading automotive alliances, are starting a new collaborative business model.
