The corona crisis has caused parcel deliverers to expand significantly in capacity in a fast-growing order market. The distribution center of parcel delivery company DHL in Zaltbommel, part of Deutsche Post, delivers due to the corona crisis now more packages per day than during December days. PostNL and DHL work with several thousand extra workers to process all packages offered.

Parcel delivery in the Netherlands is currently breaking all records. The largest service providers PostNL and DHL, which together control 90% of the market, therefore work with several thousand extra workers to be able to deliver all packages offered without much delay. DHL has now even decided to build two additional sorting centers in the short term, an investment of many tens of millions of euros.

The new employees come from sectors that currently have a very heavy burden, such as the catering industry and the taxi companies. In the Netherlands delivers the company daily far more than the usual 900.000 packages, last year's average. Capacity was expanded by 40% in five weeks. Parcel deliverer DHL is one of the largest and most innovative employers in the world.
