Taxi drivers across Europe have been in serious trouble. Almost everywhere they fall by the wayside in terms of arrangements. Industry associations across Europe stand up for their members and ring the bell. However, they are better off requesting the government to immediately decide to exercise it passenger transport by taxi during this crisis.

call to the trade association

Arrange something with a form of minimal service of up to 20% of the taxi fleet sufficient to meet demand. Without a decree stopping the activity, taxis, largely self-employed without personnel, cannot profit from lost income and technical unemployment benefits. Since the government has not placed the sector on the list of crucial professions, this must be arranged in this way.

Left behind in the pandemic, that's how many taxi drivers consider themselves. They say drivers are exposed to the health crisis, those who cannot avoid contact with their customers. Taxi drivers also consider themselves to be forgetting about the federal measures taken to support the economy.

no means of social distance

Taxi drivers in the boarding market no longer have the resources to support their families. In addition, they cannot maintain the requested social distance, because the distance between the rear seat and the driver's seat is insufficient. And yet they have to keep working in the hope of getting the bread together for the family.

Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, today it seems that European governments are ignoring the entire boarding market and the taxi drivers. The decisive factor in closing certain professional groups was mainly 'social distancing'. The 1.5 meters at hairdressers could not be maintained. This cannot be maintained in the taxi sector either, but creativity with plastic film or plexiglass solutions is now killing the sector.
