The Belgian National Security Council has decided that the corona measure to prevent the spread of the new corona virus will be extended until Sunday, April 19. After that, there is a possibility to extend the measures again for another two weeks, until May 3.

The National Security Council is made up of the Federal Government, the Ministers-Presidents of the Federal States and health experts. They have decided that the corona measure to prevent the spread of the new corona virus will be extended until Sunday 19 April.

That is one extension by two weeks. This includes the ban on gathering and the shops, except food shops and pharmacies, which must remain closed. 

"It is far too early to say that the epidemic is under control. Our efforts have only just begun. Relaxing them now would have serious consequences, ”said Belgian Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès.
