Taxi companies outside Zandvoort are not eligible for tickets.

With the large-scale Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix event approaching at the end of August, the accessibility of Zandvoort and surrounding areas will be severely limited. This is emphatically underlined in a recent letter from the organization behind the Formula 1 Grand Prix, addressed to taxi companies and power stations.

The letter indicates that several roads in Zandvoort and the surrounding region will be closed to motorized traffic from the end of August. This decision has been made to manage the daily traffic of 110.000 visitors who will attend the event on August 25, 26 and 27.

Although permits are available for residents, entrepreneurs, emergency services and some specific groups, it is explicitly stated that taxi companies outside Zandvoort are not eligible for these permits. The measure was taken to reduce traffic and parking pressure in the village.

The Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix event has a significant impact on the accessibility of Zandvoort and the surrounding area.

Taxi companies should take this into account, especially those operating in North Holland, South Holland and Utrecht. They are prohibited from entering Zandvoort between Thursday 24 August 05:00 and Sunday 27 August 23:00, not even for paying customers with Zandvoort as their final destination.

In addition, a specific warning is given to taxi companies that do not have access to ring 3 (Aerdenhout, Bentveld, Overveen, Haarlem Ramplaankwartier). They are not allowed to enter the said area from Friday, August 25, 5.00:27 am to Sunday, August 16.00, XNUMX:XNUMX pm.

Karin Sweering, Program Manager Formula 1 Municipality of Zandvoort, emphasized in the letter the seriousness of the misuse of permits. Any illegally obtained pass is considered illegal. There are strict checks at crossing points, and taxis without the special taxi pass are immediately identified. Therefore, taxi companies are strongly discouraged from attempting to obtain a pass through unofficial channels.
