Even your grandma should be able to use it!

The entrepreneur who conquered the Benelux with shared scooters, Raymon Pouwels (29), has launched a new initiative: umob. After the successful growth and unexpected bankruptcy of GreenMo, as a result, all shared scooters and bicycles from his company GO Sharing were taken off the road in thirteen cities, including Den Bosch, Tilburg, and Eindhoven.

Four years ago, Pouwels started the shared scooter company GO Sharing. It quickly became one of the fastest growing startups in the Benelux, raised 60 million euros in growth money and expanded to countries such as Italy and Turkey. However, after a short moratorium, GO Sharing was acquired by the Turkish company ThousandThousand.

Now that his former project is in safe hands, Pouwels steps into one new adventure. Together with Bibi Jorissen, he founded umob, a MaaS (Mobility-as-a-Service) platform that brings together all mobility providers. From public transport and taxis to shared scooters and bicycles, umob wants to be an integrated service that puts the user first.

The new platform has already connected several services and has received confirmation from 10 other providers that they will integrate this year. This will make more than 200.000 shared vehicles available, in addition to taxis and public transport.

The first focus of umob is located in the Netherlands, but Pouwels and Jorissen have the ambition to quickly scale up internationally. “With umob, we want to strengthen smart mobility initiatives and stimulate the sharing economy for vehicles. This makes it easier for people to move through the city than ever before. And in the meantime we contribute to reducing the ecological footprint worldwide. One ride at a time,” says Pouwels.

It seems that Raymond Pouwels, despite the challenges of GO Sharing, is determined to continue transforming the world of mobility. Raymon Pouwels got through earlier Forbes included in the prestigious European list of the 30 most influential people under the age of 30 in the Social Impact category. Umob promises to be an exciting new step in this journey. It's an adventure to watch.
