EU phase-out of fossil fuel cars unreasonable for Giorgia Meloni.

The brand new Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, conservative populist and staunch Eurosceptic, is diametrically opposed to EU interests when it comes to phasing out the internal combustion engine. Meloni is not pleased with the plans, which she says are completely unreasonable and are causing considerable damage to Italian industry. Meloni (Fratelli d'Italia) is the first European leader to openly question the EU's environmental plans.

Nevertheless, the Italian government has also supported the development of the electric vehicle market in the country through various initiatives and funding programs. The automotive industry has been actively involved in the development and production of electric vehicles (EVs) in recent years. In addition, a number of smaller Italian companies are focused on developing electric vehicles and related technologies.

"No, I don't think it's reasonable, I consider it very harmful to our manufacturing sector"

The Italian automotive industry has a long history of producing high-quality automobiles and is home to some well-known car brands, such as Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lamborghini. The country has a strong tradition in design and engineering, and its automotive industry plays a significant role in the national economy.

Italy is also home to a number of major manufacturers and suppliers of automotive components. In recent years, the Italian automotive industry has faced challenges due to increasing global competition and economic uncertainties, but it remains a major player in the global market.

Fratelli d'Italia is an Italian political party that presents itself as conservative and nationalist. The party was founded in 2012 by a group of renegades from the Lega Nord and other right-wing conservative groups. Fratelli d'Italia has participated in several governments and coalitions in Italy and holds a number of seats in the Italian Parliament. The party is known for its tough stance on issues such as immigration, security and European integration.

According to insiders, Giorgia Meloni wants to protect the entire Italian industry from the interference of Frans Timmermans and co., despite the majority of member states supporting the EU's plans regarding the policy of phasing out combustion engines. From 2035, no new petrol, diesel or LPG cars will be allowed to be sold.

Frans Timmermans

Timmermans is known for his views on climate change, migration and human rights. He is currently the Vice-President of the European Commission and the European Union's Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
