Brussels is home to Busworld Europe and European politics and is easily accessible from all corners of Europe.

The 5th edition of the European Zero Emission Bus (ZEB) Conference will be held simultaneously with the 26th Busworld Europe edition from 9 to 12 October 2023 in Brussels. ERM Group, Element Energy, organizer of this conference, is working with Busworld Foundation. Together they aim for the best edition of the European ZEB conference to date.

The Zero Emission Bus Conference (ZEB) is a series of events created by Element Energy and Center for Transportation and the Environment (CTE) to accelerate the transition to zero-emission bus technologies. Since its launch in 2016, nine successful ZEB events have been held in Europe and America to date. Previous European editions of the conference have taken place in Paris (2021), online through a series of ZEBINARS (2020), in Cologne (2018) and in London (2016).

The 5e edition of the European ZEB conference will be held in Brussels together with Busworld Europe. Brussels is home to Busworld Europe and European politics and is easily accessible from all corners of Europe. It provides the perfect location for ZEB 2023, which is expected to attract 400 participants from the zero-emission bus sector.

The collaboration provides significant benefits for both events. Participants will gain insights from the ZEB conference, which will be delivered through four half-day sessions covering all aspects of zero-emission buses and coaches, while having access to the largest B2B bus and coach trade show in the world. All ZEB participants automatically have free access to the Busworld Europe trade fair and the program is structured in such a way that conference and trade fair can go hand in hand.

The European ZEB 2023 program is currently being finalized and aims to provide bus and coach operators, public transport authorities and policy makers with a complete overview of the considerations for the large-scale deployment of zero-emission fleets. The advisory board that co-designs the conference consists of a consortium of experts from the bus and coach industry.

New in this edition is the special focus on emission-free long-distance and tourist coaches, while maintaining focus on battery-electric technologies and hydrogen buses. The coach sector needs to prepare for the emerging cities with zero emission zones.

“The Zero Emission Bus conferences provide an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in zero-emission public transport to share lessons, understand the latest technology and policy developments, and build networks and partnerships. We are excited to partner with Busworld Foundation to maximize the value and impact of the 2023 edition.”
