RAI CarrosserieNL has launched a new website for the RAI Trailer Quality Mark and RAI Trailer Maintenance. The new website is intended to increase the findability of the affiliated participants and to provide (potential) customers with more information about the inspection and maintenance of trailers.

To increase the safety of trailers, RAI CarrosserieNL has developed the RAI Trailer quality marks Inspection and RAI Trailer Maintenance developed in 2018. These are quality marks for inspecting and/or maintaining trailers with a total weight of up to 3.500 kg. There is no MOT requirement for these trailers. A thorough annual check of all vital parts, such as clutch, brakes, chassis, tires, shock absorbers and lighting is part of the inspection. RAI Trailer Maintenance also carries out preventive maintenance.

VCA requirements
With the RAI Trailer Quality Mark, the requirements from the VCA are met. VCA stands for Safety Certificate for Contractors and is intended to make contractors and employees work safer and thus reduce the risk of accidents and the number of accidents. The VCA certificate is being made mandatory by more and more clients. According to the VCA, companies are obliged to have their trailers inspected at least once a year, according to the Royal RAI Association.
