MSC Cruises recently announced that it will resume operations in Germany on July 3 with the first-ever deployment of the MSC Seaview, and with an entirely new sailing itinerary for the region. The ship will sail from home port Kiel until September and will offer 7 night cruises. These cruises all include protected shore excursions. They go to Visby, the largest city on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Gotland. The port of Nynashamn for the Swedish capital Stockholm. And to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Afterwards, the cruise ship returns to the North German port.

“We look forward to resuming our cruises from Germany, an incredibly important market for us. We offer our guests an enjoyable, relaxing and safe cruise vacation on MSC Seaview. MSC Seaview is one of our most innovative ships. We are delighted that this brand new itinerary will provide our guests with some excellent destinations ashore. Here they can safely discover the beauty of the Baltic States with the same high health and safety standards as those on board MSC Seaview, as well as all our ships ”.

The ship will comply with MSC Cruises 'industry-leading health and safety protocol developed last year with input from international health experts such as MSC Cruises' COVID-19 Blue-Ribbon Expert Group, and in close collaboration with health, safety and transportation authorities. in all of Europe. Measures include universal testing at embarkation and mid-cruise, weekly crew tests, social distancing, wearing of masks in public areas, and protected shore excursions. MSC Cruises will keep a close eye on the situation ashore for all destinations that MSC Seaview will visit, which may add new ports to the itinerary.

MSC Seaview's Baltic Sea cruises are another step forward in MSC Cruises' broader plans for a return to sea for its fleet of ships. MSC Grandiosa and MSC Seaside are currently sailing in the Western Mediterranean and will be joined by MSC Seashore in August for its inaugural season. The company's most recent addition, MSC Virtuosa, will begin its own first season of touring the UK later this week. Three more ships will soon start cruises in the Eastern Mediterranean: MSC Orchestra, MSC Splendida and MSC Magnifica. With only a few Baltic and North Sea ports open for cruises this summer, MSC Cruises has been forced to cancel proposed summer season sailings from the German ports of Warnemünde and Hamburg for MSC Preziosa and MSC Musica respectively. MSC Cruises reports this on their website.
