Trade magazine Passenger Transport Magazine has to contend with a serious setback. At the French hosting company OVH cloud a fire has broken out. Of the four data centers that the company has in Strasbourg, one has completely burned down, one has been severely damaged and two have remained in order. In any case, the data centers will remain offline for a while, even the parts that have not been affected. It is not known what caused the fire. Wim Faber, editor-in-chief of the Passenger Transport Magazine, says that everything is currently being done to bring backups back online.

The website of Passenger Transport Magazine (www.pvmagazine.nl) has been down for a while. One of the datacenters where our server is running burned out last night. Together with dozens of other websites in Belgium and the Netherlands, we have to take a break while our IT staff transfer the backups to other servers. We are aiming for tomorrow (11/03/21) and we will keep you informed!

Octave Klaba, the founder of OVHcloud, talks about the fire on Twitter. On the social network he states that SBG2 has burned down completely. SBG1 has significant damage and SBG3 and SBG4 appear to be okay. All employees are okay. In any case, the data centers will remain offline on Wednesday, even the parts that have not been affected. It is not known what caused the fire. It is not clear how OVHcloud had arranged its backups. The company has dozens of other data centers worldwide, many of which are located at other locations in France. Klaba advises its customers to use their Disaster Recovery Plan.
