Today it will be an almost impossible task for many taxi companies to get travelers to special transport or primary schools on time. Despite the scaling down by KNMI to code orange, many roads remain too dangerous for drivers and children to take risks. Taxi companies in the east of the country therefore decided not to drive. The big culprit is the winter weather, which means that the reopening of the schools does not go as expected everywhere. In Overijssel, pupils from several schools for special education are affected. Taxi companies in the province say they don't transport anyone because of the slipperiness.
It is also not possible in the big cities. In Amsterdam, more than 100 schools that are affiliated with the Federation of Public Primary Education Amsterdam will remain closed. Much school transport is also at a standstill in Rotterdam. No student transport and no transport to daytime activities, youth institutions and work companies. Today the transport is determined for Tuesday. A few schools in the Netherlands give students a day longer at home.
