These are strange times we are currently living in, the corona crisis is turning our whole lives upside down. The holidays will soon be around the corner. Nobody knows how they will develop, but we do know that they will be completely different from what we are used to. How are we going to do some shopping for these holidays in times of fear of becoming infected with the corona virus? Do we just go shopping or do we have everything delivered at home via the supermarkets? Web shops and postal and parcel delivery companies have been doing good business for months. The buses and cars of the various postal and parcel deliverers drive back and forth and can no longer be ignored from the street scene.

People stay at home and order online as much as possible. Web stores and parcel deliverers will be even busier during the holidays than they already have due to the consequences of the corona crisis. The campaign is last week "Be prepared- Order on time" started. It calls on consumers to order their gifts on time, so that the gifts are also delivered to the consumer on time. If we all ensure that we have things at home on time for the holidays, then hopefully the pressure for the web shops and postal and parcel deliverers will not increase so much.

Despite the difficult to predict future, web shops and carriers are doing everything they can to make the correct forecasts and to make preparations, such as expanding capacity and deploying extra manpower and transport. They will inform consumers as well as possible about when to expect their parcels. The consumer can also lend a hand. The sooner an order is placed, the more spread and less delivery pressure in a few days.
