The online service, Parking Alarm, was recently introduced in ten Dutch cities. Alphen aan den Rijn, Amsterdam, Bergen op Zoom, Delft, Diemen, Groningen, Leiden, Rotterdam, Tilburg and Utrecht. With the online service of Parking Alarm it is possible for residents of various cities to receive an alert as soon as a scan car from the parking manager drives through the user's street.

With the arrival of scan cars in various cities, it is raining unnecessary parking fines. This causes frustration for citizens. The initiators of Parking Alarm have come up with something to prevent these parking fines and thus the frustration.

Users can link their camera to the website after registering viaParkwekker.nl. The website processes the camera images with the help of artificial intelligence and assesses whether a scan car has passed by. When a scan car is detected, the website sends an alert to the user's mobile number. If the user has forgotten to pay, the user can still start a parking action within five minutes. This prevents unnecessary fines and frustration.

'I am very forgetful. Since the municipality came by with those scan cars, I have been continuously fined. It's great that Parking Alarm sends me messages to remind me to start a parking campaign, 'says Raymond, Amsterdam.

The online service of Parking alarm is active in the following ten Dutch cities: Alphen aan den Rijn, Amsterdam, Bergen op Zoom, Delft, Diemen, Groningen, Leiden, Rotterdam, Tilburg and Utrecht. The service is not free. The user can purchase credits via the website to receive the alerts.
