Last weekend it became clear that the city of Antwerp, together with a number of surrounding municipalities, had to go one step further in the fight against the corona virus. Monday afternoon after the press conference of the National Security Council, the measures for the province and the city came very late on Monday evening. In the province of Antwerp, there is a curfew for at least four weeks from 23.30 p.m. to 6 a.m. This also means that cafés must be closed at 23 pm at the latest.

In public places, a mouth mask is mandatory for everyone over 12 years old. In the city Antwerp and quite a few peripheral municipalities go one step further. In addition to the provincial measures, all banquet halls must close here. All events and parties are banned and fitness centers are also closing again.

In the coming month, a family bubble may have a maximum of 5 permanent contacts, excluding children under 12 years of age. Shopping is also becoming stricter again and a registration requirement for sports lessons and wellness centers will be introduced. The social bubble is getting smaller because a family bubble will be allowed to have maximum contact with 5 other adults, excluding children, in the coming month.
