On June 15, Belgium opens its borders again. Most of the changes had already been leaked before the press conference began. The personal bubble is allowed up to 10 people. The catering industry may partly reopen from Monday 8 June and many sports activities may also resume. Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès and the prime ministers of the federal states gave a press conference on Wednesday afternoon to explain the decisions of the National Security Council.

Services in a church or mosque are allowed again and vFrom June 8, it is also possible for Belgians to make excursions of one or more days within Belgium. As of June 15, the country will reopen borders to other countries belonging to the European Union - including the United Kingdom - and the four other “Schengen” countries.

Theme parks and indoor playgrounds have to wait a while. They may reopen the doors on July 1. There is also a wait for fairs, fairs and village festivals, because they are prohibited until 1 August. Arcades, casinos, reception rooms may only open on 1 July. 

The hospitality sector is satisfied with the announced relaxation of the corona measures by the National Security Council. The catering businesses are allowed to open from 8 June with a closing time at 1 a.m. and bubbles of ten. Nightlife will not start until the end of August at the earliest.

The swimming pools and wellness centers must remain closed in Belgium for the time being, they should not be open until 1 July. Amusement parks will also remain closed, in contrast to the Netherlands, where a visit to Efteling is possible again.
