During the largest edition of InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin, which takes place from 24 to 27 September, we will of course also be there to report on the latest trends and innovations in the rail and mobility sector.

The international rail and mobility industry is coming together again this month in Berlin for InnoTrans, the world’s largest trade fair for transport technology. From 24 to 27 September 2024, the German capital will be the stage for this influential trade fair, which is now in its 14th edition. This year, the event is expected to break all records, both in terms of visitor numbers and size. More than 150.000 transport professionals will visit Berlin, with a large number of them Dutch and Flemish companies will be present to showcase their latest innovations, of which we highlight some notable companies.

One of the notable names is AE Petsche Company, a division of Arrow Electronics from Turnhout, Belgium. This company is known worldwide as a distributor of interconnect solutions for rolling stock. AE Petsche's expertise is not new. The company has decades of experience in the industry and supplies components that meet the strictest requirements of the future. The focus is on high-quality, reliable systems that are essential for the continuity and safety of modern railway vehicles.

Another Flemish company that does not go unnoticed is Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) from Ghent. ABC has been one of Europe's leading manufacturers of diesel engines for ships and locomotives for more than a century. The company, which was co-founded in 1912 by the German inventor Rudolf Diesel, offers engines with a capacity of 1.000 to 4.000 kW. These engines are not only powerful, but also reliable and are used for a wide range of applications, from shipping to power generation and railway traction.

From the Netherlands, AMT Rail Road from Breda is an interesting exhibitor at InnoTrans. This company produces and supplies unique machines for work in and around the railway. The machines of AMT Rail Road are developed entirely according to the specifications of the customer and meet the strictest requirements in the field of regulations and safety. The company is known for customization and innovative solutions that ensure efficient and safe railway operations.

Also from the Netherlands comes Anamet Europe BV, a company based in Amsterdam. Anamet specializes in flexible connection and protection systems for the railway sector and other industries. Their products are used worldwide and the company is a leader in the field of technical solutions that are essential for the protection of infrastructure and electrical systems.

Then there is Beacon, also from Amsterdam, which focuses on rolling stock. With an impressive portfolio of 786 locomotives, 515 passenger vehicles and 1.199 freight trains, the company has a strong position in the European market. Beacon's customer base extends over 18 countries and they offer solutions for both freight and passenger transport. The company has proven itself as a reliable partner for railway operators and continues to grow, also thanks to their high utilisation rate of 99%.

From West Flanders comes Bekaert, a world leader in steel wire transformation and coating technologies. This company, located in Zwevegem, focuses on innovative solutions that contribute to the future of mobility, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Bekaert works together with various partners to develop new technologies that can be applied in the railway industry and other sectors.

This edition of InnoTrans promises to be a spectacle, with numerous innovations and solutions that will shape the future of the railway and mobility sector.

Another Dutch company that will be present at InnoTrans is BMS from Haarlem. This family business specializes in upholstery and renovation of furniture for trains, trams and metros. Since 1968, BMS has been offering innovative furniture solutions that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also meet the highest demands in terms of sustainability and comfort.

From Flanders we also see De Bonte Group from Waasmunster, which is active worldwide in the development of concrete infrastructure solutions. With almost 75 years of experience, the company is known for its high-quality, sustainable products that are used in various large-scale projects, including railways.

The Dutch Ebusco, based in Deurne, is also part of the fair. This company specializes in the production of fully electric buses, which are used in cities throughout Europe to reduce the emission of harmful substances. Their emission-free buses contribute to a cleaner and healthier living environment, especially in urban areas.

InnoTrans offers a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the latest developments in the railway industry, and companies such as Fugro RailData from Leidschendam play an important role in this. Fugro helps railway managers to collect crucial data about tracks and infrastructure, which enables more efficient maintenance and management.

As a pioneer in locomotives, John Cockerill Locomotives from Seraing offers a wide range of new shunting locomotives from 350 hp to 2000 hp. Particularly suited to hauling heavy trains on industrial sites, these locomotives perfectly meet the needs of rail and urban transport operators.

LaborexRail from Olen offers railway systems for wastewater treatment of trains: from mobile discharge vehicles to complete vacuum supply and discharge networks, vacuum cleaners and cleaning cabinets. These systems are suitable for use in railways, trains, metros and LRTs for trains.

VDL Mastsolutions BV, formerly known as Kaal Masten BV, has been established as part of the VDL Groep from Eindhoven since July 2017. With this acquisition, the company name was changed to VDL Mastsolutions BV, a step that further strengthened their position in the market. The company has since focused on delivering high-quality solutions for sustainable, safe and attractive public spaces, with a complete range of steel masts offered to various customers.

Finally, we must not forget Infrabel from Brussels, the manager of the Belgian railway network. Infrabel invests more than a billion euros annually in the modernization of the Belgian railway network, making them one of the largest investors in the sector.
