Royal Dutch Transport (KNV), the federation of business associations in passenger transport, is looking for a policy advisor for target group transport.
This role, available for 32 to 40 hours per week, offers a unique opportunity for professionals with a background in mobility or healthcare to have a direct influence on Dutch transport policy. KNV represents approximately 500 members who, together with over 70.000 employees and 5.000 self-employed persons, are active in passenger transport, ranging from taxis to trains and from coaches to healthcare transport buses.
The policy advisor for target group transport is tasked with representing the interests of entrepreneurs who are active in target group transport. Target group transport includes various forms of transport, such as Wmo transport, transport to day care, pupil transport and transport within the framework of the youth and participation law. This sector is under constant pressure from changes in regulations and tenders, which creates a great need for expert advice and representation in various consultations.
policy
As a policy advisor, you will represent KNV in both local and national consultations and focus your efforts on influencing policy. This means that you will have regular contact with ministries, municipalities and health insurers. It is a function that requires a lot of coordination with various stakeholders, where it is important to closely monitor the progress of procedures and processes.
KNV works closely with various national and international organisations, such as the employers' organisation VNO-NCW, the International Road Transport Union (IRU) and the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). These collaborations underline the broad network and influence that KNV has within the transport sector, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The KNV office, located on the 19th floor of the Malietoren in the heart of The Hague, is the nerve centre of these activities.
The current themes that the policy advisor will be involved with, among other things, arise from the improvement agenda for target group transport. This agenda contains topics such as tenders, contract management, the availability of drivers and strengthening the position of bus transport. It is a versatile function in which you act as a point of contact for entrepreneurs, governments and other parties involved. In addition to representing KNV in consultations, you also advise various boards and organize meetings for the members.
The office has a gym, which employees can use, and is just a five-minute walk from The Hague Central Station.
For this position, KNV is looking for a professional with an HBO+/WO work and thinking level and at least five years of relevant experience in the mobility or healthcare sector. Good communication and social skills are essential, as is the ability to carefully deal with sometimes divergent interests. KNV is looking for someone who is confident and not afraid to take initiative. An affinity with SME companies, mobility and/or healthcare is a plus, as is a hands-on mentality.
working conditions
The employment conditions offered by KNV are attractive. The position has a salary indication of €5.300 to €6.000 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek, depending on knowledge and experience. In addition, KNV offers excellent secondary employment conditions, including 35 vacation days per year for a full-time employment contract and a solid pension scheme.
KNV is in this application procedure supervised by PolderBanen. Interested parties can apply until Tuesday 17 September. For more information, interested parties can contact Evi Gasseling or Jeppe Licht via 073-2032098.
