Bolt is further expanding its reach in the Netherlands with the recent launch of its taxi services in three new cities: Breda, Den Bosch and Tilburg.

This strategic expansion in the Brabant region underlines Bolt’s continued commitment to the Dutch market and its ambition to become the most used mobility service in the country. The mobility platform Bolt, which already has a strong foothold in major cities such as Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Eindhoven, now sets its sights on Brabant. By making its services available in Breda, Den Bosch and Tilburg, Bolt is meeting the growing demand for reliable and accessible transportation options in these cities. This is not only a logical step in the company’s further expansion, but also a response to the local need for diversity in public transportation.

big milestone

According to Noud Ottens, General Manager at Bolt Netherlands, this expansion is particularly personal and important. Ottens, who grew up in a remote area in Brabant himself, emphasizes how this launch will significantly improve mobility in the region. “This step is a major milestone for us as we work towards our broader vision for the Netherlands. As we strengthen our role as a leading mobility provider in the country, our main goal is to provide innovative, safe and accessible transportation options that truly connect with local communities,” Ottens says.

With the new services in Breda, Den Bosch and Tilburg, Bolt is further expanding its reach and strengthening its position as one of the largest mobility providers in the Netherlands. These cities, with their own unique transportation needs and urban challenges, fit perfectly into Bolt’s broader strategy to transform mobility across the Netherlands. By focusing on affordable and sustainable transportation solutions, Bolt aims to provide an attractive alternative to car ownership, helping to reduce traffic congestion and the environmental footprint of urban areas.

De extension Bolt is supported by a recent €50 million investment plan, specifically aimed at further developing its services in the Netherlands. These investments will not only help to improve the availability and quality of services, but also to support local drivers by enabling them to maximise their income. This is made possible by, among other things, cost reductions, realised through various partnerships. In addition, there is a strong focus on inclusivity and safety, with the aim of ensuring that Bolt’s services remain accessible and affordable for everyone.

strategically chosen

Breda, Den Bosch and Tilburg have been strategically chosen for this new phase of Bolt’s expansion. These cities, known for their dynamic urban environments and diverse populations, are important hubs in the province of Brabant. By launching its services here, Bolt is responding to the increasing need for flexible and accessible transportation options in the region. Bolt’s presence in these cities is expected to not only improve mobility, but also contribute to the economic vitality of the region.

Bolt remains focused on delivering high-quality, safe and inclusive transportation solutions that meet the changing needs of urban communities. The company has clearly demonstrated that it is more than just a ride-hailing service; it aims to become an integral part of daily life in the Netherlands. By investing in technology, sustainability and customer satisfaction, Bolt is positioning itself as a leader in the mobility sector, ready to meet the needs of the future.
