CM and RMC want to convert Transvision into a fully-fledged joint venture.

Cetorhinus Maximus BV (CM) and the Rotterdam Mobiliteit Centrale RMC BV (RMC) have jointly application submitted with the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) to convert their existing collaboration in Transvision BV into a full-fledged joint venture. This move, announced on August 5, 2024, marks a significant development in the mobility sector and highlights both companies' growing focus on strategic collaboration and consolidation within the transportation industry.

CM and RMC have been involved with Transvision BV for some time, an organization that specializes in organizing and coordinating various forms of mobility. Both companies have their own expertise and work area, which strategically complement each other within this collaboration.

taxi transportation

CM, which operates under the name BIOS group through subsidiaries such as Zorgvoercentrale Nederland BV (ZCN), is a national player in mobility services. The BIOS group specializes in offering contractual taxi transport, including WMO transport, patient transport and business transport for both companies and government institutions. This makes CM an important player in the Dutch transport sector, with a strong focus on delivering reliable and efficient mobility solutions.

target group transport

RMC, on the other hand, has positioned itself as a national transport director with a clear focus on target group transport. This includes services such as student transport, WMO transport, WSW transport and even staff and event transport. In addition, RMC also offers call center services and driver services, mainly for other organizations within the transport sector. RMC is a joint company of RET NV and Rotterdamse Taxi Centrale RTC BV, and plays a crucial role in providing specialist transport services throughout the Netherlands.

Transvision BV, the company central to this development, acts as mobility director and offers various forms of contractual taxi transport. One of Transvision's most important activities is its role as (co-)implementer of Valys, a supra-regional social-recreational transport system for people with mobility disabilities. This system, which is contracted by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), is implemented in collaboration with RMC and ZCN.

DEXTR

In addition to Valys, Transvision is also active in coach transport and consumer transport through its DEXTR service. Another important aspect of Transvision's service offering is its online mobility platform, Vita Mobiliteit, which is specifically aimed at target group transport. This platform provides advanced planning services for taxi and coach operators through TransDesk, a tool that enables efficient and accurate planning for different types of transport.

The decision of CM and RMC to convert Transvision into a fully-fledged joint venture appears to be motivated by the desire to further join forces and strengthen their position in the Dutch mobility market. By intensifying their collaboration in Transvision, both companies can benefit from synergies, such as shared knowledge, economies of scale and improved coordination of their services.

competition

Converting Transvision into a full-fledged joint venture can also be seen as a response to the increasing competition and complexity of the mobility sector. By consolidating their activities, CM and RMC can better meet the needs of their customers and respond to future changes in the market, such as the growing demand for sustainable and inclusive transport solutions.

Moreover, this step can enable Transvision to further strengthen its position as an important player in supra-regional transport, especially in the social segment where Valys plays a prominent role. The expertise and resources of both CM and RMC are likely to contribute to the further development and expansion of Transvision's service offering, which could lead to an even greater impact in the mobility sector.
