With this strategic move, Ayvens focuses on a future in which mobility is not only more sustainable and efficient, but also more accessible to a wider audience.
As of today, ALD Automotive and LeasePlan have joined forces under a new name: Ayvens. This rebranding follows the acquisition of LeasePlan by ALD Automotive and marks an important milestone in the Dutch mobility sector. The new brand, which combines the expertise and innovative strength of both companies, is positioned as a leading player in the market.
Ayvens employs approximately 1.200 people in the Netherlands, and the company manages an impressive fleet of 330.000 vehicles. This makes Ayvens the largest provider of leasing, mobility advice and ex-lease cars in the country. The transition to Ayvens means the end of the brand names ALD Automotive and LeasePlan, the latter of which had been a permanent fixture in the Netherlands since 1963.
The name Ayvens symbolizes a fresh start and reflects the changing market and challenges of today. Sander Pleij, Country Managing Director Netherlands, emphasizes that the future of mobility must be more sustainable and flexible. “We are convinced that we can take a leading role in this together with our customers and partners,” says Pleij. He adds that one in five lease cars in the Netherlands is now under contract with Ayvens, and that half of all new lease cars are electrically powered. “In this way we contribute significantly to the electrification and sustainability of the Dutch vehicle fleet. Sustainability goes beyond just the car. We extend the life cycle of lease cars and make mobility more accessible by offering second-hand lease and flexible subscription models.”

"I am extremely proud of how we have brought together colleagues from two different companies over the past year. They form the beating heart of our ambitions and represent Ayvens every day."

The acquisition of LeasePlan by ALD Automotive was completed worldwide in May 2023, and since then Ayvens has been gradually introduced in 42 countries. The Netherlands is the 17th country where this rebranding takes place. Ayvens has 14.500 employees worldwide and manages a fleet of 3,4 million vehicles, of which more than half a million are electric. This makes Ayvens a global market leader in leasing and mobility solutions. The integration of personnel and expertise is crucial to Ayvens' success, and Pleij emphasizes that the future of the brand is as promising as the rich history of its predecessors.
'Better with every move'
Ayvens is launching itself with an extensive national campaign under the motto 'Better with every move'. This campaign, which will be seen via radio, outdoor advertising and online, focuses on emphasizing Ayvens' core values: sustainability, flexibility and convenience. “Together with our lease drivers, customers and partners, we make mobility greener, more flexible and ultimately effortless every time. That is what drives us at Ayvens,” says Pleij.
